Allen & Heath - XONE:92 MK2

The Allen & Heath XONE:92 MK2 is the modernized version of a mixer that has made history in clubs and DJs around the world. This analogue model has been updated, while maintaining the sonic authenticity that the Xone series is renowned for. The XONE:92 MK2 remains true to its heritage with high-precision analogue components and a refined sound architecture, designed to deliver a unique Allen & Heath mixing experience.

A central feature of this console is its dual VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter), optimized to provide more precise control over frequencies. Each channel has the option of being assigned to one of the two filters, allowing smooth transitions without unwanted clicks thanks to silent switching. The control of the resonance and filter cutoff frequencies is now even more precise, giving DJs perfect control over the effects during their sets. This revision of the VCF filters offers flexibility to sculpt the sound in real time, whether with gradual rises or abrupt filters.

The EQ section is also a strong point of the XONE:92 MK2. Each channel features a fully analog 4-band EQ, with a total kill on the high and low frequencies (HI and LO), and adjustable mids (HM and LM) for granular control of the mix. This feature is particularly suited to DJs looking for control over long transitions and cuts, essential for genres such as techno or house.

The new version of the XONE:92 includes an innoFADER® Pro crossfader, improved to offer better fluidity and increased longevity. The crossfader is user-replaceable and allows customization thanks to a curve adjustment via potentiometer, allowing to go from a smooth transition to an instant cut.

The design of the XONE:92 MK2 has been slightly revisited with a new Storm Grey finish, modernizing its visual without unfamiliarizing users. UV screen printing allows for better visibility of buttons and potentiometers in low-light environments, as is often the case in clubs and festivals.

The analog audio circuit of the XONE:92 MK2 has also been redesigned to maximize sound quality. The new phono preamps make it possible to get the most out of vinyl, with an RIAA curve specially adapted to electronic music, offering clarity of low frequencies. This optimization allows for a better match between Line and Phono sources, facilitating the transition between vinyl and digital sources while maintaining impeccable sound quality.

To complete this set, the XONE:92 MK2 is equipped with 6 stereo channels, including 4 for phono/line inputs and 2 for mic/line inputs. Each channel has a dedicated preamp and can be assigned to specific filters, allowing for complete customization of the sound according to the musical style or the DJ’s preferences.

Finally, the XONE:92 MK2’s improved connectivity includes XLR outputs, dedicated Booth outputs with stereo/mono monitoring, and a mic input optimized for clean feed, ensuring pure sound even with vocal sources. The new DI inputs and stereo returns allow for the incorporation of external instruments or effects, making the console as versatile in live as in the studio.
