The DPA 4006-A is a small diaphragm condenser microphone, with omnidirectional polar pattern, for a frequency response between 10Hz and 20kHz. The 4006A guarantees naturalness and precision in all kinds of applications: ideal in the concert hall, the DPA 4006 A also excels in proximity recording of instruments or vocals.

Since its release in 1982, the DPA 4006 has continued to increase its reputation, unanimously throughout the world, to the point of becoming a must for any professional studio.

The 4006 has gained its reputation thanks to its transparency both on close-range shots on acoustic instruments and in ambient recordings. Thus, it is ideal for A-B stereo pair recording of symphony orchestras in a concert hall, but it also excels on piano, guitar, double bass and percussion.

The MMC4006 capsule captures the smallest details, and offers incredible depth of sound. This DPA omnidirectional recording microphone offers an extremely linear frequency response from 10Hz to 20kHz (±2dB), with high sensitivity and very low self-noise.

The 40006A omnidirectional microphone is part of DPA's flexible d:dicate series. It combines the MMC4006 omnidirectional capsule with the MMP-A preamplifier. At any time, it is possible to modify the 4006 A into a new configuration, by attaching another capsule, or another preamplifier.

The DPA d:dicate 4006A omnidirectional microphone is also available as a ST4006A paired stereo pair and 5006-11A and 5006A surround kits. The d:dicate 4006A replaces DPA's non-modular 4006 Omnidirectional microphone.
