The Archtop Lake Shore Blue is classic in its shapes and modern in its finish.

With this model, the Californian brand Kala offers a ukulele that adopts the curved shape of jazz guitars that appeared at the beginning of the 20th century, the archtop. It chooses to combine blue and white with a metallic finish for a most attractive result.

While Kala has rejuvenated its archtop ukuleles with modern colors and finishes, its recipe nevertheless remains the same as on the old models. These already offered remarkable sound quality thanks to an arched top and back. The same is true for the Archtop Lake Shore Blue. The latter offers a sound that resonates reasonably loudly. Reasonably so because it can be heard without difficulty, but does not reach the high sound levels of resonator models either.

If it plays loudly, it nevertheless projects a soft sound that will please most people. Thanks to the material of its body, mahogany, it focuses more on the mid-range frequencies than on the high ones. This results in a sound that is rounder than bright, a tone typical of ukuleles. For this reason, mahogany bodies are highly sought after.

Finally, this electro-acoustic ukulele has the UK-300TR module that acts as both a preamp system and a chromatic tuner.
