The UVI Cameo offers a unique synthesis experience, drawing inspiration from the Casio CZ synthesizers of the 1980s. These synthesizers were known for their phase distortion technology, which produced rich, complex sounds. The Cameo faithfully captures this essence while offering modern customization options.
The Cameo's three virtual models offer a variety of sounds:
Cameo CZ: Based on samples of original Casio CZ instruments, this model offers an authentic reproduction of classic sounds from the 80s.
Cameo CX: This model uses raw waveforms captured directly from Casio CZ instruments, providing a raw sonic foundation for creating unique sounds.
Cameo CM: This model combines sampling synthesis and hybrid synthesis to create new and futuristic sounds.
The Cameo also offers a wide range of modulation and effects options to sculpt sounds. Modulators such as LFOs, envelopes and step sequencers help create complex movements, while effects such as chorus, flanger, phaser and delay add depth and texture.
