Pivoting HPS waveguide & X-ART tweeter
ADAM Audio's HPS (High-Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology allows sound to be projected more homogeneously, wide horizontally but narrower vertically. The A Series introduces a pivoting HPS waveguide. You can rotate the A Series tweeters 90 degrees, while still enjoying HPS waveguide technology, whether you install your speakers vertically or horizontally.
The A Series HPS waveguide is made from a new glass fiber polymer compound, which helps create crisp sound, without any unwanted resonance. ADAM Audio's X-ART tweeter sits in the center of the pivoting HPS waveguide. Handcrafted in Germany, the X-ART tweeter delivers precise transient response and reproduces the tiniest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in each of the A Series speakers to provide precise sound on all models in the range.

Multi-layer mineral fiber woofer
A Series woofers are made from a specific blend of mineral rock fibers baked together to create a lightweight, yet extremely stable material. The mineral composition, stacking and geometry of each cone is specific to the speaker used in each model. By combining this material with the new magnet system, the A Series woofers produce a high output level, with very little distortion, to achieve crisp bass.

Hybrid amplification
The A Series combines the best of the digital and analog worlds. The woofers are powered by Class D amplifiers, which help produce linear performance while reducing distortion. These amplifiers were chosen specifically for their power and efficiency, both in terms of power consumption and sound reproduction. Less heat dissipation allows for a smaller radiator, making it easier to invest further in the exceptional power and performance of the A Series models.
The tweeters and midrange drivers are powered by class AB amplifiers, which reproduce high frequencies in a smooth and natural way. Each amplifier is optimized for its operating range. The result is a finely tuned and correctly aligned speaker. To achieve this, ADAM Audio carried out numerous measurements and listening sessions, testing countless amplifiers and amplification components.

Electronics to DSP
The A Series benefits from the scalability of DSP electronics in order to offer speakers that can be adjusted with greater precision and are more stable than their purely analog counterparts. With firmware that can be updated over an Ethernet connection, you can expect to incorporate future ADAM Audio DSP advancements, including new features and filter types, as well as additional voicings.

Adaptation to the room
On the back of the A Series speakers, you'll find four EQ bands dedicated to adapting to the listening space: Bass, Desk, Presence and Treble. Each band is adjustable in stages; This gives you over 100 options to help compensate for typical acoustic issues that arise when placing speakers.

Voices
A “Voicing” is a predefined sound profile of the A Series speakers. On the back you will find three distinct options, “UNR”, “Pure” and “Ext”, selectable using a switch.
“UNR” or “Uniform Natural Response™” is a natural and dynamic response curve designed by ADAM Audio and inspired by various historical and legendary ADAM Audio products, including the previous AX series. It is suitable for production and composition, because the presence and charm of its tone leaves more room for creativity and inspiration. It's also a very good option when you simply want to use your speakers to listen to music for pleasure.
“Pure” is an option that allows you to obtain a very precise and neutral sound. This is the “flat” setting, ideal for mixing and mastering, when you really need to hear all the details and rely on an accurate representation.
The “Ext” voicing is dedicated to the advanced features offered by the A Control software via the Ethernet connection.

A Control software (Remote control in real time)
The DSP functionality of all A Series monitor speakers can be controlled remotely and in real time via Ethernet using A Control software. Customers who have registered their A Series speakers can download the A Control software for Windows and macOS free of charge from their MyADAM space on www.adam-audio.com.
Once the software is downloaded and installed, you will be able to control multiple speakers at once, fine-tuning EQ from different listening positions in your studio. You'll be able to control speaker levels remotely while you work, if you're far from a fader or physical interface. Remote control capabilities are especially handy in multi-use rooms. They ensure that voicing, EQ and other settings are set exactly how you want them.

Part correction & Sonarworks integration
A Series speakers are designed to adapt to changing configurations, preferences and environments. Using A Control software, you can manage advanced filters directly within a platform integrated into the monitoring speakers, and thus compensate for imperfect acoustics. This integrated platform supports filters from leading company Sonarworks. Using Sonarworks software and a measurement mic, you can calibrate your speakers to suit a new room, or new preferences.

Bass Reflex system, baffles and mounting
The new A Series speakers build on the heritage of ADAM Audio, and in particular the AX Series. The A-Series baffles are based on an evolutionary design and feature deeper beveled edges to further reduce diffraction. Additionally, thicker walls reinforce the baffles and reduce internal vibrations, while a flared vent on each side optimizes airflow and reduces noise produced by the vents. All A Series speakers feature an undermount mounting interface; so you have the possibility to install them wherever you need them.

Advantages of Series A

A solution for every environment
With five models of varying sizes and specifications to choose from, finding the speaker that's right for you is simply a matter of taste and understanding the acoustics of your listening space. If you need more versatility in positioning your speakers, the pivoting HPS waveguide allows each speaker to be used in a horizontal or vertical position, with minimal compromise in sound quality. Options for adaptation to
Rooms located directly behind the monitor speaker help you resolve common speaker placement issues, including bass bump caused by nearby walls and surfaces.

Superior sound performance
Every aspect of the design, materials and components of the A Series models contributes to producing exceptional sound quality, and an increased level of output compared to equivalent models from the previous AX Series.
The combination of Class D amplifiers used with the A-Series woofers, and the Class AB amplifiers that accompany the tweeters, generates an impressive sound pressure level (SPL) on all models and a frequency response that goes extremely low. The use of digital signal processing allows the A Series to benefit from advanced features.
All A Series speakers feature an X-ART tweeter installed in the middle of a custom-made HPS waveguide. The high quality of the tweeter materials, which are hand-bent in Berlin, combined with the precise control of the propagation produced by the waveguide, allows better dispersion of high frequencies at short and long listening distances.
A Series woofers are made from six layers of mineral rock fibers baked together to create a lightweight yet highly stable material that helps suppress partial vibration and other sonic impurities. By combining this material with the new magnet system, the A Series woofers produce a high output level, with very little distortion, to achieve a very clean sound in the bass.
The sleek design of the baffles also contributes to the superior audio performance of this A Series models. More specifically, the baffles have been beveled to minimize diffraction, and the thicker walls reduce vibrations within the cabinet. In addition, the flared port on each side reduces, compared to AX Series speakers, the noise usually produced by ports, by optimizing airflow.

Faithful mixes
The A Series offers two voicings to choose from directly behind the monitor speakers. “Pure” is an option that allows you to obtain a very precise and neutral sound. This is the “flat” setting, which allows you to hear a faithful reproduction of your sound through your speakers. It is ideal for mixing, mastering and critical listening.

A sound full of character
The A Series produces characterful sound with great presence, as you would expect from ADAM Audio. “UNR” or “Uniform Natural Response™” is a dynamic, natural-sounding voicing that you can activate from behind the monitor speakers. It draws inspiration from a wide variety of past legendary ADAM Audio products, including the previous AX series. It is suitable for production and composition, because the charm of its tone leaves more
room for creativity and inspiration. It's also a very good option when you simply want to use your speakers to listen to music for pleasure.

Can't deal with the acoustics in your space? Fix it!
For many people, addressing the acoustics of their room is not possible, for reasons of cost and complexity, or simply because they use their speakers in their living room or bedroom. The A Series offers various solutions to compensate for poor acoustics, from equalization designed to adapt the speakers to the room and manage unavoidable nearby objects, to automated room correction available thanks to our collaboration with Sonarworks. Together, these technologies can greatly improve your listening experience, without you needing to spend a lot of money changing your location.

Control always at your fingertips
Much of the technology integrated into the A Series speakers can be controlled remotely and in real time using A Control software. This allows you to concentrate on your project and monitor settings from your listening position without having to go behind the speakers to change them.

Features that will stand the test of time
Software and firmware have played an important role in the development of the A Series, and they will continue to do so long after the speakers are launched. Through the Ethernet connection, expect to integrate the latest advances in ADAM Audio DSP, including new features and filter types, as well as additional voicings. Your A Series monitoring speakers will therefore continue to offer you the best possible sound
for many years.

Beyond stereo applications
The A Series offers numerous options for input connection, mechanical integration and sound adjustment. It is therefore ideal for multichannel and surround applications.

Unleash processing power
For the past three years, ADAM Audio and Sonarworks have worked together to deliver the world's first integration of Sonarworks working directly into a studio speaker. This saves you from using an additional plug-in in your DAW, simplifies your work and guarantees that your monitoring speakers are always perfectly tuned, thanks to the calibrated filter, whatever your sound source.
