Presentation
A guitar with a classical pitch is then faced with the obligation to use extreme string gauges to manage to channel a Drop A, requiring a complete new adjustment of the instrument and above all, it will face a loss of definition with a its super dark and heavy.
It is always possible to use 7, 8 or even 9 string guitars, but some musicians are not fans of necks "affectionately" described as aircraft carriers.
Jackson enters the race and offers with its Pro Plus XT series (for XTended) a range of devilishly effective instruments dedicated to the craziest Drops.
For example, this Monarkh is equipped with a scale of 27" (686mm) which naturally facilitates maintaining the tension of the strings, thus avoiding the use of strings that are much too thick, and guaranteeing a "tight" sound in all circumstances in the bass You then have the possibility of playing in B or A Standard, or even in Drop A and G, without ending up with spaghetti between your fingers and with a massive but precise sound.
This single cut format is based on a Nyatoh body, a wood known for bringing depth and punch in the mids (it will chugger on stage), to which is glued a 3-piece maple neck reinforced by rods graphite and a sublimated ebony fingerboard.
Showing great stability in the face of climatic or tension changes, the neck is designed to be very comfortable to play for hours and hours, thanks (among other things) to its compensated radius and an ebony fingerboard whose role is to bring out the brilliance of your riffs.
To make your amp roar, the manufacturer has thought of everything by incorporating a pair of pickups popular with modern players, the Seymour Duncan Nazgul (bridge) and Sentient (neck). The Nazgul reproduces Drop Z chords with phenomenal power and surgical precision thanks to a super fast response in the bass and midrange. The Sentient may be capable of making the most angelic cleans sound with roundness but make no mistake, once the distortion is engaged it will bring out your solos with unparalleled fluidity.
Little icing on the cake, Jackson has even provided a Killswitch button for fans of the effect who don't want to tire out their 3-position selector and, as an aesthetic detail, the black SharkFin markers stand out quite well on the ebony fingerboard.
Obviously, elongated tuning fork means suitable cover, and the brand provides a gigbag made especially for the model.
The Monarkh is just waiting for you to ring out your biggest chords with authority!
