Presentation
It features 2 XLR/Jack combo inputs, as well as six 6.3mm jack sockets on the rear panel. Eight outputs allow you to connect your existing hardware, while 2 jack main outputs and a headphone output are available for monitoring. An optical I/O section lets you connect eight channels of compatible inputs and outputs: a pair of S/PDIF connections provide digital I/O; MIDI can also be routed via two 5-pin DIN sockets.
A web-based application gives you control over routing, level adjustment and effects settings on your Ultralite MK4, using a laptop, iOS device or smartphone on a closed Wi-Fi network.
One of the great things about the UltraLite MK4 is that it can also function as a standalone digital mixing console. You get 48 virtual inputs (digital and analog) that can be used simultaneously, 12 stereo busses, 32-bit floating-point processing, 3 send groups, network inputs, and DSP effects. With so many channels, it can be hard to keep track. Fortunately, this interface allows any input to be sent to any output or multiple outputs simultaneously.
In addition, Motu does not fail to live up to its reputation, as this audio interface offers extremely low latency. In keeping with the times, the Ultralite MK4 can be controlled wirelessly thanks to an app available for tablets and smartphones.
