The Reloop Buddy works directly with the Djay app on many platforms without any subscription or additional payment. Algoriddim recently unified their apps into one app, but added subscriptions to Pro features (e.g. Video Mixing, Neural Mixing, Headphone Cueing, Recording, etc.). When you connect the Buddy controller to Djay, it unlocks (for free) some of these Pro features. You can easily summarize that each element found on the controller will not require a Pro subscription (e.g. Neural Mix), but other Pro features (e.g. Video Mixing) that are not accessible via a controller element, still require a Pro subscription.
