Audio Interfaces

The Digiface Dante is a lightweight and portable audio interface, combining Dante connectivity and networking features with everything RME is known for: USB 3, MADI, TotalMix FX and exceptional options in USB and standalone operation. RME has installed two BNC sockets for word clock I/O switchable to MADI I/O, with up to 64 channels. The sum total of Dante and MADI, 128 channels, is transferred via USB 3.0 and managed via both RME's Dante control software and TotalMix FX, for complete and hassle-free control of all audio.

Dante is an audio over IP protocol from Audinate. The Digiface Dante is a USB 3.0 to/from Dante interface, adding an external and fully mobile option to the internally used PCIe Dante card. Digiface Dante uses RME’s mature MADIface Series driver for Windows and macOS, with the lowest latency and best stability in the industry.
Equipped with the latest TotalMix FX, it can not only route, but also mix as many independent submixes as there are outputs available. The included high-quality headphone output provides quick monitoring of any audio channel, but can also be used as a line output to provide an additional analog stereo mix. Equipped with the largest Dante module, 64 channels can be sent and received over the network.

Equipped with two banks of redundant network ports, the Digiface Dante is more than just an audio interface. It also offers the functionality of a switch, connecting up to 4 network lines, eliminating the need for additional switches to distribute and collect the network lines, or offers redundant operation with 2-port connectivity for the primary and secondary network.

The interface comes with RME's unique software toolkit for measuring, testing, measuring and analyzing digital audio streams.
On Mac OS X, it offers unique functions and features from spectral analysis of data calculated at the hardware level to sophisticated multi-channel level metering.
On Windows, an additional multi-track recorder and display of playback data from audio software are also available.

When used without USB, the Digiface Dante automatically transforms into a 64-channel Dante/MADI converter. The analogue stereo output can be pre-configured to send a mix of exactly the channels needed. Full network redundancy and switching functionality are also available. With USB bus operation and an external power connection, a stable and redundant power supply is ensured. As Dante has become AES67 compatible, the Digiface Dante supports another format on the network side for even more flexibility and more applications.
