Presentation
Granular Synthesis and Effects Processing with Sonicware:
- Texture Lab uses a granular processor that slices sounds into grains from 2 ms to 1 second, then transforms and reconstructs them in various ways, manipulating the shape, density, time distortion, spatial position and playback mode of the grains to create entirely new sounds.
- Granular synthesis parameters are easily accessible from 10 knobs and are designed for intuitive control.
- Texture Lab is a 4-voice polyphonic synthesizer capable of recording 32 samples up to 6 seconds long, generating grains from any part of a sample and synthesizing them using two modulation sources, an envelope generator and processing the sound through different types of filters.
- It can also be used as an effects processor for real-time granular processing of stereo signals coming from the line input. It is also possible to freeze sounds in a stream to add granular sound effects.
Shimmer Reverb:
- Texture Lab offers six high-quality stereo reverb types.
- All reverb types have a "Shimmer" parameter that lets you layer reverbs in octaves to create fantastical and majestic sound spaces.
- Shimmer reverb can also be applied to the stereo signal coming from the line input.
128-Step Sequencer with Parameter Lock:
- Texture Lab is equipped with a powerful 128-step sequencer that the LIVEN series is famous for.
- In addition to recording notes, it can also record granular processing parameter changes over time.
- Record knob operations in real time or record parameters directly to specific steps for more complex sound textures.
- Sequence up to 128 steps per pattern.
- Save up to 128 patterns.
- Subdivide the tempo down to eighth note triplets.
- Program notes step by step or record them in real time.
- Sequence longer notes over up to 128 steps (tied notes).
- The "Parameter Lock" function allows you to save knob changes in your patterns.
Presets created by renowned sound designers:
- The Texture Lab is an experimental device for generating new sounds.
- Granular processing, invented by contemporary composer Xenakis, is now essential in the art and IDM worlds.
- Explore nostalgic soundscapes that transport you to another world, as well as many ready-to-use synthesizer programs.
- Create your own sounds with the Texture Lab and publish them as the result of your research! #LivenTextureLab
