Stylus RMX Xpanded is a virtual instrument based on the manipulation and creation of grooves.
With this software, Spectrasonics has created what has become a standard in the music industry.
The Stylus RMX Xpanded core library contains thousands of cutting-edge grooves and sounds, created by Spectrasonics’ sound design team and produced by Eric Persing. The core library contains nearly three times as many sounds as originally offered in the original Stylus, plus all the original material. The sounds and grooves in Stylus RMX Xpanded offer a much wider range of modern musical genres. Groove mixes are broken down into individual tracks called Elements for more flexibility and endless combinations.
With Stylus RMX Xpanded you have the ability to create your own multitrack grooves and remix kits, save them within the plug-in and even share them with other Stylus RMX Xpanded users on different platforms and compatible hosts.
Stylus RMX Xpanded now includes all five of Spectrasonics’ “SAGE Xpanders”, bringing the total number of grooves/sounds included to nearly 10,000. The RMX platform also supports hundreds of third-party publisher libraries and can also be extended with REX files, allowing musicians to use their own audio loops within the powerful SAGE environment.

Spotlight on
After years spent at Roland as a renowned sound designer, Eric Persing created Spectrasonics in 1994. At the beginning, he was developing sampling-based sound banks, considered as references at the world level. With the advent of virtual instruments, Eric Persing has transposed his sounds and developed his creative possibilities to the delight of all. His greatest successes are Stylus RMX, Omnisphere, Trilian and Keyscape.
