Presentation
Also included is an EDM patch library, exclusive sound sources from Diego Stocco's custom instruments, curved sounds, and psychoacoustic effects. Spectrasonics even went so far as to try the melodic sound of stalactites hanging in a radioactive cave in Eastern Europe, just to give Omnisphere 2 a little extra.
Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2's audio import feature, allows you to use your own sound as an oscillator source, or 400 DSP waveforms based on morphological waves for the Synth oscillator (that's 100x the number of Omnisphere waveforms), there's no doubt that this virtual instrument packs a serious punch.
There are four layers of effects per patch. They have a doubled modulation matrix for your mixing effects. You can play with any of the 57 onboard effects and use up to 16 at once. There are over 500 wave oscillations to sculpt, including 8 LFOs and 12 envelopes, and there are also eight independent arpeggiators. You can import your own samples to use with the oscillator, or choose from the armada of patches.
Its granular synthesis engine, along with FM/ring, filter, unison, arpeggiation and modulation options, also lets you create cooler sounds than ever before. Even if you're not a synthesis guru, the ability to borrow effects, arpeggiators and other parameters from one patch to another is pure fun!
With its hardware synth integration feature, Omnisphere 2 can transform over 65 well-known synthesizers into real hands-on controllers that unlock Omnisphere's newly expanded synthesis capabilities. A true interplay between software and hardware!

After years spent at Roland as a renowned sound designer, Eric Persing created Spectrasonics in 1994. At the beginning, he was developing sampling-based sound banks, considered as references at the world level. With the advent of virtual instruments, Eric Persing has transposed his sounds and developed his creative possibilities to the delight of all. His greatest successes are Stylus RMX, Omnisphere, Trilian and Keyscape.
