Presentation
The Vintage 6176 Channel Strip combines the all-tube, all-sounding tones of the legendary Bill Putnam-designed 610 mic preamp with the signature FET compression of the 1176LN to create the ultimate recording channel strip.
The warm, smooth tones of this mic preamp design—used on recording by everyone from Frank Sinatra to Van Halen—and the unique characteristics of the compressor are two of the main reasons the 6176 is found in studios around the world.
The “Split” or “Join” switch allows independent or series operation of the preamp and compressor.
The 6176’s mic preamp section takes the quality and character of the 2-610 and adds high-voltage power regulation for improved low-end response and a 15 dB attenuation switch on the front panel.
