Presentation
The model has managed to impose itself against fierce competition thanks to an impressive sustain and particularly pronounced warm bass.
In order to wish it a happy 60th birthday and to commemorate, Epiphone offers the Thunderbird 64 series, taking up the design of the original model.
We therefore find a neck in 9 plies of mahogany and walnut, crossing 2 wings of mahogany, all guaranteeing this very particular sustain and a beautiful warmth in the natural sound of the instrument.
For an authentic playing reproduction, the neck profile is rounded in the 60s style and the laurel fingerboard brings presence to the sound.
And on the subject of sound, in order to make the bass of this icon roar, Epiphone decided to use its pair of ProBucker 760 double-coil pickups, with a warm and punchy sound. Whether you play clean or accompanied by an Overdrive, you will find the balance of sound thanks to the two volumes and will be surprised by the possibilities of this Bird.
In order to stick as closely as possible to the original model, the 19:1 tuners are open with characteristic "Clover" keys, and the bridge/tailpiece combination is in the pure vintage tradition. The Graphtec nut, meanwhile, limits string friction to a minimum in order to ensure tuning stability during your different sets.
As an additional aesthetic touch, the Thunderbird is hot-stamped in the pickguard to follow you everywhere.
The beauty is delivered in its premium cover to guarantee you total peace of mind when traveling.
