Neumann launched its famous TLM 103 in 1997. To celebrate this best-seller, a special and limited edition, called "25 Years Edition" is offered at the end of 2022. Dressed in a superb galvanic nickel dress which gives it gives a raw but refined titanium look, this edition is a tribute to the industrial aesthetic of the late 90s. This special coating is entirely made by Neumann. Ultrafine grooves give the TLM 103 an elegant roughness.

The TLM 103 takes features of the original U87 and combines them with modern needs in terms of signal-to-noise: it is particularly low!

This version of the TLM 103, 25 Years Edition, is limited to only 500 pieces worldwide and each unit bears its individual serial number on the front panel. It is supplied with its elastic suspension and a pair of black gloves to handle it without leaving traces, all in a very robust aluminum case.

1997 was the year of two magical events: 500 copies of a book about a certain “Harry Potter” were published in the United Kingdom – and Neumann presented the TLM 103, the sensation of the time in its sector. It was the first microphone to offer true Neumann quality at an affordable price for home use by enthusiasts or for a model studio. And he too could work magic: the TLM 103 made microphone noise virtually disappear. Thanks to its incredibly low self-noise level of just 7 dB-A, well below ambient noise even in the best recording studios.
